"The angels said, 'Flee for your life, do not look back,
nor stop anywhere in the Valley, lest you be consumed!'…
But Lot's wife, who was behind him, looked back, and
she became a pillar of salt."
Genesis 19:26)
A While ago I Was Sitting in of a Familiar place, but this time I was a visitor. While sitting there the Holy Spirit gently whispered in my ear, "There is a Great Danger in Looking Back!" When I heard those words, within a few minutes, I grabbed my car keys and hit the door. On The drive on I continued to wonder and ponder what was said and I began to think about one of the most perilous cases of looking back in the bible. We have all heard about the Story of Sodom& Gomorrah. How God destroyed the city because of their wicked ways and their rebellion and their lust of the flesh but many times we stop reading after we see that God destroyed the city. Before God destroyed the City God, Spoke to Lot and told him to gather his family and flee. The Bible Says "Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed." (Gen. 19:17).
However, disobedience and curiosity cause Lots wife to look back "But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt." (Gen. 19:25)
Most times when god moves us, from situations, He does it in His timing and it has to edify and fortify us. We start questioning what if, and that causes regret to set in our heart causing pain and even more questioning. Regret is a common emotion. Regret is throughout the Bible, but we have to be able to separate our emotions from our physical actions. Satan wants you to feel regret and to start to question. That is his job as the enemy. If he can get your mind to think on the "What If's?" in life than your body is not far from it. Always remember that God chose you. So do not wonder why he picked you and not your friend. God has a plan for your life and the plan that He has for you just may not fit your friend. Don not I hesitate to receive God's grace! He spared you for a reason! Do not Look Back because Mercy & Grace Both Have A Limit!
Let me say this before I Close, Don't Think That I Mean Don't EVER Look Back, because sometimes looking back helps promote and propel your faith. Just Do not Attempt to go Back. God Does not want you to forget where you came from; He Just does not Want You to Go Back There.
