"The anointing"
The presence and work of the Holy Spirit in a person/s life, which empowers us with supernatural effectiveness for Godly service. (Luke 4:18; 1 John 2:27)
"Anointing with oil"
Olive Oil is one symbol of the Holy Spirit. We use olive oil to anoint for healing, for ordination, and for restoration. The power of God is released through faith. The oil is symbolic of God's presence. (James 5:14-15; Mark 6:13; Exodus 25:5-9; Luke 10:33-34)
"The glory"
The manifestation of God's presence in the midst of God's people. The charged atmosphere in which God performs supernatural works upon our spirit, mind or body. (1 King 8:10-11)
"Laying on of hands"
A practice of the church, which is to transfer blessings (such as healing virtue or stirring spiritual gifts) by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Hebrews 6:1-2; 1 Timothy 4:14; Mark 6:5-7)
"Slain in the Spirit"
When a person falls down during prayer or worship, it is a physical yielding to God's Spirit, for some; an overpowering by the presence of God, for others. (Acts 9:4; John 18:6)
"The tithe"
The tithe (meaning ôone tenthö) is the understanding of the believer to give back to God the portion of their increase. It was brought to the priest (Leviticus 27:30-32), so that the house or temple of God would be supplied. (Malachi 3:10)
"The offering"
The offering is that portion of our increase that we give to the church above and beyond our tithe. As the tithe opens the window of heaven, the offering is the measure by which what God has poured out. It is the seed that we plant in God's kingdom, not in order to be blessed, but rather to be a blessing. (Malachi 3:10; 11 Corinthians 9:7; Luke 6:38)
